electra310: (Badger Counsel)
Well, it's official, God doesn't want me to finish my appellate brief. I mean, my procrastination is a bad enough enemy, but when God is on its side? I think I'm done for. This weekend the power went out, the internet went out, my VPN client for wireless was tetchy all of Saturday so I couldn't get to my network materials, and a tornado almost blew down our house (that might be an exaggeration, but it did knock off the big chimney on the building next door.) And this morning, I was just getting into the groove, when there was a fire drill. I think that pretty much tears it. On the other hand, it is quacking very much like an appellate brief now, so who cares if it's short? Short means less chance for typos. I'll still get the maximum number, because it's what I do, but maybe there will still be marginally less.

In other, related news, today we got this message: "I encourage you to sign up for both rounds as soon as possible so you all will know whom to serve with your briefs." I giggled hysterically inside my head. Sleep-debt approaches critical.
