electra310: (Kitty Girl Clowny Devil)
Well, as I'm sure very few of you will be surprised to hear, I have a major assignment due tomorrow. I always post on LJ when I am procrastinating on a major paper, after all. And this one is more stupidfaced than most. I say that every time as well, but it just keeps being true. I actually have been working on this one off and on, so I'm not in the crazy awful panic stage quite yet (though maybe I should be). I've kind of lost interest in this class since I realized that there is no possible way I can make this professor happy. It's a pass-fail class, and if I turn in something that looks like an appellate brief and quacks like an appellate brief, I'll probably pass. Still haven't heard anything about a summer job, which is too bad, but I will keep my hopes up and keep looking.

Mike goes in to interview tomorrow for a job as a field gofer on an archaeological dig up in Northern Illinois. He'd be gone four days a week and home three, and they'd pay for food and lodging and transportation. It would be a good job, and a job in history. The preschool thing has kind of gone south recently. There was a nasty flap last week when some bitch actually called the police because she said he grabbed one of the kids by the face while putting her in time-out. It was completely and patently untrue, but he had to talk to the police and file a report, and missed two days of work. It was pretty awful. He's teaching with a co-teacher in a different class now, and his kids really miss him. The school backed him up, as well as most of the parents, but it just goes to show what one crazy, man-hating psychopath can do. And people wonder why more men don't go into education. Pfft. Anyhow, his interview's tomorrow morning, so we have our fingers crossed!

I've been playing a lot recently on Rondak's Portal, and I really like it a lot. We moved Lauren's Changeling game over there, where it fits in very nicely with the messages and chat room and built in die roller that the portal offers. I've also started playing in the prelude to an Aberrant Utopia game, and applied to another one. And Mike will be starting a Teragen game soon, which I'm very excited about. Evil novas, woo-hoo! Unfortunately, the forum has been down this weekend, which meant I got more done, but I have felt at loose ends. There's almost always something going on around there to blow some time on, it's fun! Which, of course, means I have to discipline myself hard to pay attention in class. I need to pick up some study aids too, this semester has gone by in the blink of an eye. And hey, two weeks and change till my birthday! That's always a nice feeling, though I suppose this may be one of the last years I feel that way. After all, next year I turn twenty-five, and will really be a real-live, no going back grown-up type. Spooky...
