Dec. 6th, 2004 09:53 amI always seem to end up posting from work these days. Possibly because it's a good way to look busy while I'm not doing anything. The problem with getting better at your job is that it takes even less time to do, and you're left twiddling your thumbs for more time. The timesheet I got this morning only took eight minutes. That's pretty ridiculous. But I have my Accuradio, and my Firefox to tweak, and I'll get by.
I've been doing a lot of LARP writing lately, which is fun. Technically downtime is frozen, but that only means you can't write anything time-sensitive. Last night I plowed through four pages, and I'm up to six pages and counting on Moira's backstory. I missed NaNoWriMo deadline, but that doesn't mean the project is dead! It's... um, pining for the fjords! That's the ticket. The problem is that I have to do so much research to write about an era and a place I know so little about. But that's why I married a historian, I suppose. He's so handy. =)
Speaking of historian spouses, Mike is deep in the throes of finals week. Poor guy. He worked all weekend on this paper, and is at it again today. I don't even really understand what he's doing, but he seems to be doing all right at it. Last night I filled out financial aid forms for spring term. With any luck, we'll be able to afford the rest of this year after all. And really, 8,500 dollars will just be a drop in the bucket by the time we're all done with schooling. And it's still nothing compared to what we'd be facing if I were going to an ivy league law school. I loves me the U of I!
So, I'm online all day long. Someone should talk to me. I am very entertaining, after all. And just sitting here in front of this computer, staring at it, for hours....and hours... and hours... But I have my AccuRadio on. And now Hannah's song is playing. I will listen to that.
