A-La-La-La-La!
Feb. 17th, 2003 06:40 amIt's been a very busy weekend. Full of fun and entertaining things, which is good, seeing as how the horrible mistake that is Grapes of Wrath is about to descend on my free time like a bell jar on a butterfly. Saw the Calvin Problem twice, which was very very funny. A bit slow in places, but that was the fault of the script, rather than the actors. And I could forgive it easily because it was so entertaining in all the other spots. After the Saturday show, I snuck along to the cast party as a fangirl and that was a lot of fun too.
At the party, I actually got drunk for the very first time. Well, as far as I can tell. Maybe just very tipsy. I never got sick or threw up or passed out or anything. Never even felt bad. I just thought everything was exceedingly funny for quite some time. Not unlike a lot of my life, really. Afterwards I went to the computer lab and played around and drank Mr. Pibb and analyzed LARP backstories until it was time to work at 8am.
Working at 8am is bad for me. I can't stand the thought of waking up that early, so I've stopped going to bed at night. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for this smecking fifth hour American Literature class. I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IT!!! It is the most useless class I have taken at Knox. Nothing but irritation, and I don't even have to take it. Don't need it for number of credits, since I've got three extras and don't plan to graduate early. Not in my major, nor in my minor, and those creative writing classes took care of my distribution. If I can drop it, I'm going to. It's nothing but a pain in my ass. Then I could write a kick-ass Philosophy paper, concentrate on my Makeup class, and enjoy freedom from literary idiocy.
The teacher in that class, by the way, says that I have an excellent writing style and good insights, but that I'm not literary enough. If I don't manage to drop it, I'm going to start pulling stupid shit out of my ass and tossing it on the paper. I've yet to meet an English teacher who didn't lap that stuff up.
That was a yucky metaphor.
Anyhow, today I slept from 11am to 6pm, which is one reason I'm still up now. Then I went to supper, then DDR. Then Lauren and Gabe and I went to the Walstores, where I got my birth control refilled. Three months running, my period is right on schedule! Hot damn! I need to clean out my car, it's full of things, especially rocks. Tomorrow I need to call the museum again and hassle them about getting the last of my collection. I've accepted that they won't be hiring me back, so I feel less restrained in getting a little pissy about the way they're dragging their heels.
Oh, and I also got a new pillow at Walmart. It's wonderful. Soft and fleecy on the outside, soft and squishy on the inside. I'm almost sad that I didn't sleep tonight, so I couldn't try it out. Oh well.
I also got Mike a present, but I will not say what it is, because I know he reads this. =)
After I got home, I did downtime with Ian and Jess and some other stuff, and updated the news site and played with my Neopets and DID NOT do my English homework. So there. And now it is morning. Goodnight.
