I keep remembering that I want to post on my Livejournal, but then I can never remember what I want to say. It's been an interesting few days, very busy. I've done horrible things to my body. (Note: It's a BAD idea to not sleep for three days and then give blood and not eat supper.) I'm signed up for a new roleplaying game next term, and I'm becoming more and more sure that Grapes of Wrath is absolutely going to kick my ass.

I'm very sad that I won't be at the LARP tomorrow. Judging by the dizzying amount of downtime I've facilitated this week, many people are excited for this session. And that makes me happy! I need to update the news site, what with not sleeping and then sleeping for 15 hours and trying to get my class presentation done for this afternoon, it's a little behind. Oops!

The improv show starts tonight. I want to be in it! Wahhhhh! It's really strange not being involved in that right now. The other night, I was on a little break from Grapes and I walked into the back of studio and watched a little bit of rehearsal. They saw me, but I don't think they recognized me. It was kinda weird. Oh well, next term I shall be back and much wiser than to do another mainstage show.

Just as I posted that last, I was reminded of what I really wanted to talk about, our Student Senate of Fools. What the hell are they trying to pull? A resolution that we think the war should be stopped? All of us? Just who do they think they are?

I'm not even going to go into the political side on that one. The very fact that the Student Senate believes it has the moral authority to issue a resolution like that just boggles my mind. Does anyone, any single person remember electing their student senator because of their political affiliation? No, of course not. They don't campaign that way. I voted for my senator because she lives in my building and said she wanted good communication with people, and I figured she might be more responsive to our needs. (No joy on that, as is amply proven by the inch thick coating of ice on the sidewalk right outside my door.)

The senate was created to deal with student issues, and the makeup of it reflects that. I have no idea what political affiliation my senator has (though judging by this, I'm leaning strongly toward loony). Making a resolution like that is totally overstepping their bounds and our needs. If I wanted to make a statement, I'd make it myself, rather than having a group of ego-stroking pencilpushers usurp my voice and try to make it for me.

Fix the sidewalk outside my house, represent student interests on faculty committees, stop the tuition from skyrocketing every single year. When you can do that, you're doing your job. Before that, shut up and stop posturing.

If I sound bitter, there's a reason. =P
