Brief update: The windshield wiper motor (which I was not aware existed, though I suppose it seems in retrospect like there would have to be one) is broken and we need a new one. The cost for a windshield wiper motor with installation, taxes, etc? 295 dollars. Which, with the assessment fee, is almost four hundred dollars, ie, half the trade in value of the entire damn car. Why can't anything go right? This wasn't even my fault!

Well, we can't afford to pay for it, so... I dunno. Long squeegee? More later, maybe.

My '93 Honda is also excellent at breaking vital parts of itself. I think it's either masachistic or crying out for out attention. I hope you can get your car fixed, and that nothing else fails on it.
