After weeks of waiting, worrying, and that little clenchy "Have an ulcer, on the house!" feeling whenever I think about finals at school, I finally got my grades today!
Criminal Procedure: B
Constitutional Law: B
Statutory Interp: A-
Civil Procedure: A-
I couldn't believe my eyes. The Civil Procedure exam was the hardest final I've ever had to take. It was the first one, and I came out of it wondering if I should just quit then and save myself the other three tests. There must've been a hellacious curve on that sucker. Or he just really liked my essay, which I actually have saved on my computer, unlike all my other tests. (He gave an unsecured exam, which means that instead of using the SecureExam program, which locks down every program except itself and makes encrypted files to send in, we just used Word to do our exams and could look at all our notes and things on the computer.) The essay question, as promised, was on class actions, and I'd studied my head off for class actions, so maybe that was what did it.
In any case, I am still a law student! No longer will Cori agonize about whether she should learn to juggle or go to cooking school or become a hobonova. Well, not until next term, at least. Not only did I do much better than I thought I would, I gave myself a comfy little bump in my GPA. I'm sitting on a 3.25 now, which is not stellar but makes me feel pretty good about myself. I successfully attended school and had a life in my first year of law school. I win!
