First off, here is a link to an old journal entry I made back in 2002, when Dave, Dan-Kelly, Heather, and Mike were basically the only people reading my journal. I was looking through my archives, and this one made me laugh. It is my rant about romance novels. Galesburg in the summer is really boring.

In other news, Mike is getting sick again. Ack! I wonder if we may have to move up his surgery now, if he keeps getting sick. He was only even well for a week this time. But maybe they'll just give him another prescription for antibiotics without making him go in this time. And his temperature is down now from earlier tonight, so we'll just keep shoving Tylenol into him for a while and cross our fingers.

Yesterday evening I went and participated in the regional Moot Court competition at the courthouse. That was pretty fun, I was a witness in two of the rounds, once for the plaintiff and once for the defense. I say it was fun because there were cookies, and Mike and I both got a free supper afterwards that was awfully tasty. The actual witnessing part was kind of awkward. I stepped in on Wednesday to do it on Friday, and was given two depositions, one for each witness. The defense one was easy. Three pages, no sweat. She was a grandma who was a witness to an accident and didn't see that much. The plaintiff's witness was a traffic homicide investigator who came with a twelve page deposition, and then diagrams and photos to go with it.

This wouldn't be so bad, except to be in character, I couldn't take the deposition up with me. I had to remember all the information, from the address of the police station to how many years I'd been a detective, six different numbers about cases I've investigated, the years I took training, length of the skidmarks, and everything I saw at the scene. And the defense attorney was a total bitch, and the plaintiff's attorney did a shitty job of keeping her off me. I was irritated. But I got through it, and hey, the food was great. I also got a cool pen.

Not too much else to report, it snowed a little today. Just enough to remind me that it's cold. We didn't go outside today, hooray for us!
