Well.

It's really been quite a weekend, the capstone to a very long week. All I can say is that I'm incredibly glad to have the day off tomorrow. I'm hardly even a little bit tired, but if I were working, I'd have gone to bed two hours ago, and given myself another of the restless nights that have been so prevalent in my life lately. The interesting thing is, I slept like a baby last night, and that was wrapped in a blanket on the floor. So go figure. I guess it's at least safe to say that the bed isn't the problem.

It was a very busy weekend. We started out early on Saturday morning, getting up at 10 minutes of six and leaving the house by seven to make our very important date. We arrived in Wilmington on time, just before 8, and picked up Buffy and Tansy Mae, the two chow chows who were our rescuees this weekend. They were both almost absurdly adorable. Chow chows are like puppy-shaped teddy bears, so cuddly and poofy. These two came from Georgia last weekend, then stopped over in Illinois for a week, then went on to Minnesota yesterday. We drove them along the I-80 corridor, since we were heading that way anyway.

So that was our doggie adventure, and then it was on to the LARP. I won't say much about that here and now, because that's not where it belongs. But it was, if nothing else, a night for a lot of changes. Afterwards we skipped out on the Broadview and chilled with some Mike's Hard Berry while I tried to get the glitter off my skin. I am still glittery now as I type this. I fell asleep on the floor, since the dog crates prevented us from bringing along the fake beds, but like I said earlier, I slept like a baby. In the morning we got up early and made Aberrant characters with Wes and Loren and Tali. That was really fun. My character is massively intelligent and a cyberkinetic, but she has a lot of Taint, so she'll be a little weird somehow. But Mike hasn't told me how yet. The suspense is intense! The rhyming is in the timing! Or whatever.

After lunch, we drove home, a truly miserable trip without air conditioning. But we bought a new cage for the birds, and it is huge and awesome! They're going to deliver it right to Champaign. At five feet wide and two feet deep and five feet tall, it's about the size of my desk with topper here, but that just means the birds will have plenty of room to stretch their wings. This cage is so awesome. And the store was awesome too, so I dropped another bundle on toys for the new cage. We ended up spending 350 dollars, but I consider it a productive expenditure of all that overtime this past week. They're going to be so happy!

We drove home then and chilled, did some stuff that had to get done, and then I played Civilization while Mike fell asleep in bed with the lights on. He's still there, in fact. =) And I think I am going to go join him. Goodnight!
