electra310: (have a flag?)
So, this is my fourth day in a row of overtime work. This is just brutal. Worked till 6:15 Monday, then seven on Tuesday and Wednesday. And that's just when I get off work, not when I get home. Blargh. Luckily, my boss is paying for my taxi ride home when I leave at seven, because the Hyde Park Express is not running then, and I'd have to take the Red Line Subway, which is very dodgy at the best of times.

All this, of course, has made it difficult to get any packing done. But I'll figure something out. We've already got quite a few boxes packed, and I cleaned up the big spot on the floor from where the computer chair has rolled all year. The stuff I got worked quite well, but now the rest of the carpet looks dingy by comparison. But that's normal wear and tear, and thus not my problem. I've got all the cleaning stuff I need for the kitchen and bathrooms as well, so that'll be good. I'm starting to think I may need to take the birds down when we do our big move on the 7th, just because they're so sensitive to cleaning fumes. We've had to temporarily relocate them to the bedroom because the study reeks of carpet cleaner. Poor babies.

Speaking of which, Victoria has allergies, the vet tells us. He gave her a shot, which she didn't like too much, and said she'd have to wear the e-collar for a couple weeks, which she likes even less. She's getting used to it now, but she still stalks around like a little clown full of vituperous hate. We may have to give her a bath one of these days, and I think that will only make things worse. Poor kitty.

I'm really looking forward to LARP this weekend, I totally need a break from work. We have a lot of downtime to do in pregame, but luckily I don't have to storytell this weekend. Whew! We're also doing another rescue drive, this time for two chow chows and possibly a Brittany spaniel as well, so that'll be nice. If we're going to make the long drive anyway, might as well take passengers! =)

Okay, back to work with me now, I will be online later, hopefully.
