electra310: (Badger Counsel)
I went to the bank yesterday and deposited my last three paychecks, and all the checks Mike has been hoarding in his wallet since time immemorial. With that cash infusion, today I made my second and final deposit to University of Illinois. I am in! It's a huge load of my mind, even if it's also a big bite out of my bank account. Now I'm officially a law-student-to-be. And hey, it was even easier than I thought, since they had an online payment place and I just had to use my check card. Coolbeans.

Mike is still gone today, down in Springfield working on his thesis. I am bored and lonely. The kitty is trying to ameliorate my loneliness with the liberal application of puncture wounds, which means it's probably time to get her claws trimmed again. But hey, tomorrow will be cool! Lauren and her dad are coming to visit. Besides Anne, she'll be the first Knox visitor we've had. I need to clean the apartment! And get working on my pot roast. But right now I have bean soup simmering in it for tonight. I'm such a good homemaker... sort of. =)

Guess what! I've got a job again! A month's assignment at an investment firm downtown, at the same wages I was making at Baker. Woo-hoo! Here I was, just getting used to the idea of long-term unemployment, and happy days are here again! I start tomorrow, which is going to make some interesting scheduling things, but I'm not worried. The future is looking very bright! Now I just need to brush up on Excel spreadsheets a bit...
