Well, I feel accomplished today. I got up way too early, thanks to Daylight Savings, then managed to get to church, come home, and remove the window air conditioner all by myself! That sucker is heavy! We were supposed to have it out ages ago, but were too lazy. But it's so cold in the apartment that I couldn't stand it anymore. Now it will be nice.
Had some interesting downtime last night that was a lot of fun, though I cannot divulge details. Tonight I will put on my mouse ears and tail and hand out candy to the little trick-or-treaters. Yay! We carved a pumpkin yesterday and named him Sam, we just need to figure out a place to put him. He has vampire fangs. It's badass! I also have a bowl of pumpkinflesh in the fridge that I may try to make a pie out of. Unfortunately, I have no piecrust and no graham crackers, so that could be a bit of a problem. We'll see what happens.
Also, I have signed up for National Novel Writing Month, as part of a life or death pact wth my ex-roomie. I have a couple of story ideas, but all I'm really sure of is my working title. "Train to Blue Island." It's a little silly, because the Blue Island train is the Metra train I ride every day home from work. But I love the sound of it, and the idea that this train is leaving the middle of downtown and heading south to a blue island. I have never actually been all the way to Blue Island, which helps preserve the illusion that it is a tropical paradise and not a suburb. Now I just need a story to go with it. In a month! Eeee!
