I'm Back, Baby!
Aug. 20th, 2004 03:11 pmGuess who's got the internet in her very own apartment now, so she can be online all day and night? Oh yes, it's me, I'm the coolest ever. Well, I'll be letting Mike use it some too, I suppose, but that's what being married is all about. The cable guy came today, right on schedule, and was surprised to see that we already had our own modem and had it hooked up and everything. The cable hookup for our apartment was in the left hand bedroom, and the study is the right hand bedroom, so it took some ingenuity and about fifty feet of coaxial cable to get that sucker hooked up. But in a fit of handiness I did it, even using screws and hooks to attach the cable to the baseboards and keep it out of the way. Anyhow, he just handed us the install disk and numbers and went on his merry way.
The visit was good for a number of reasons. It was the first time in weeks we've had a visitor, and it finally compelled me to clean the whole house. I even vacuumed with my new and exceedingly cool vacuum. Now I have a clean house, and the internet. Life is good. Life is also good because I've been getting some play on my job applications, and hopefully will have at least temp work soon, which is nice, since we need groceries pretty badly, and tuition is coming due. Ack. But those are worries for another day. Someone needs to come visit us. Or we need to visit someone. It gets boring out here. You know it's boring when the cable guy is the highlight of your day. But hey, internet! Wooo!
IM me, I'm always on, once again!
