On this day, when every American feels pulled back by the gravitational pull of the huge event a year ago, when the world is suspended for a moment in time, when sorrow is a spectacle and grief is a ratings bonanza, I guess there's only one thing to say as we keep our heads down and try to hold onto our dignity.
