How do you measure, measure a year?

I got my grades!

Contracts: B+
Torts: B+
Property: B
Criminal Law: B
Legal Writing: S

So, a good solid report card, much better than I'd feared. I'm not in the top of my class, but I've never really felt the drive to be, not in law school anyway. It gets so competitive, and I wouldn't deal well with that. Bs and B-pluses will show potential employers that I am smart, steady, and not likely to go haring off for some flashy big-firm job. I am pleased. It was three days late, which did nothing for my nerves or my stomach, but now I've survived the first semester, and nothing after this should be quite as terrifying. I do hear that it gets harder from here on out, though.

Don't know what S means. Must be some fancy law school thingy. But congrats on the grades!

PS This is your divinely loony friend in Germany. I don't have any contact info for you since the move. :( I have a myspace account at www.myspace.com/Gypsi_girl. Visit it, contact me, I miss you....
...even if you did make me wear periwinkel taffeta... ;)

S means satisfactory, Legal Writing is a pass/fail thing. And thank god, because it was the most annoying class I've ever taken. It was like... hmm, like taking all the nitpickiness of Mrs. Barger and combining it with the blase "whatever" attitude in class of Mrs. Mills-Ruckman, then rolling it up into one teacher who acted like everything was no big deal, then marked you off ten times in a paper for the same error. For me, it was putting one too many spaces between the end of my citation and the parenthetical reference. I lost eight points of a fifty point final paper just for that.

And I sent you an email, so I hope you got it.

Alas, no email. My work email screws up with stuff sometimes because of the whole german server thing, I think. ".de" snags things up a bit.

You can try my old faultless@hotmail.com address, which has been recently revamped and despammed and I'm using it again. I want to send you postcards and stuff. :)
