Shells sink, dreams float, life's good on our boat...
Another quiet day at work. None of the bankers are in today, they're all off doing their fly-around-and-be-bankeriffic thing. That works perfectly well for me, since it gives me some time on my hands. So far things look good for me staying through May, which means we just might have enough money to pay for getting the tires fixed on the SAAB and for moving as well. Excellent. Work is boring, but I've got my AIM working around 60 percent of the time, which is nice. I have had some funny moments when my AIM cut out but the AIM at home was still working. So I'll be typing and not seeing the responses, but when I get home from work I can see what they were saying to me.
I signed up for my first rescue drive this weekend, that will be exciting if it goes through. I joined the driveforlife community, where people can sign up to drive animals from high-kill shelters to rescues or permanent homes. This would be the last leg of a six-part trip for this dog, from Gary to Hinsdale. Not a bad drive for me at all, especially since Mike is going to be absolutely swamped this weekend and too busy to play. It will also make me clean out our filthy, filthy car. =) I will post and update if I get accepted to do this leg. I imagine there are a lot of rescue drivers in the Chicago area, so I might not have been the first to volunteer.
Anyhow,I have to go do some actual work now and justify my existence. People in the LARP should look on the Forum boards later today, the Conclave thread will be starting. I dug into the deep recesses of my hard drive to find the listing of Quad Cities Kindred, so this is an opportunity to meet them, as well. Exciting!
