Wow, it's been a long evening. LARP, then Broadview, then over to Sigma Nu. All of which had its fun points. LARP wasn't terribly exciting, but there seemed to be a lot of character interaction, and I saw a few plotlines developing nicely, so that's good. Introed my new character tonight as well, which was kind of fun. I don't like her as much as Hannah, but maybe she'll grow on me. Rhiannon and Hannah were both such incredible, fun, interesting characters, I guess I worry that this one won't be as good. But it's hard to say. Characters sometimes surprise you with how they end up being.

Tonight was also Adam's last night storytelling. God, I'm going to miss him. Gemma as well, but tonight I'm really feeling the loss with Adam. We've made a really good team over the last year and a half, and storytelling just isn't going to be the same. Reid and Sean are both good guys, but neither is as pragmatically bloodthirsty. We'll get through it, even if I have to kill off every character one by one, and eventually I'll step down myself and GBN will have an entirely new team from the one it started with. Kind of weird to think about.

Back when GBN started, the game was in a bit of a shambles, really. Mad by Night ended on a dissonant note, with no one really knowing what was going on, a lot of characters dead, a lot of stories unfinished. The Peoria LARP had just started, leaving us a lot smaller. I didn't come on board as an ST for a couple of months, but I watched and worried, afraid that we wouldn't be able to make things work out. But now, better than a year later, things seem to be going all right (knock on wood.) We may not go six years like Madison did, but we've got a game up and running with some durability in it, and we've managed not to break it. So that's a pretty good start. Let's hope we can keep it going.
