My computer is back from a harrowing day at the computer doctor... or at least its brain is. After getting a complete reimaging of Windows and a restoration of my actual files from an external backup, my poor little compy's brain got swapped into a loaner computer so the actual lappy could be sent off to get its motherboard repaired. My computer lives a hard, hard life.
So tonight is devoted to computer restoration activities. I still have all my documents and music and stuff, which is very good, but all the programs I've loaded over the past year and a half are gone, gone gone. Including Firefox. The good news is that many of the programs I downloaded originally have new versions out that I can now download. And there's a zillion new extensions for Firefox out there. (I am writing this LJ entry with one of them, a new extension I downloaded called DeepestSender. We'll see how that works.)
I've got my browser, my messengers, my antivirus and my antispyware all downloaded, so it's a good start. Now I just need to laboriously reconstruct a year and a half of bookmarks. So hey... what should I put on my bookmarks list? Send me cool websites that I should bookmarks, comics and other awesome places that will fill up the empty void where all my stuff used to be.
One more thing: this is the last call for addresses! If you want a Christmas card from me, give me your address! Even if you think I know your address, you're wrong! The best way to do this is to comment on this entry and then delete your comment. I'll get your comment by email, and your address won't be left hanging out there.
