Space has a terrible power!
Jun. 9th, 2005 12:11 pmBusy day today! I decided that I should write about it with my brand new Permanent Account!
::Pause for brief victory dance::
And now I've got that out of my system. Anyhow, we moved all our furniture and most of our possessions out of this apartment and into the new place in Champaign on Tuesday and Wednesday. That really went pretty well, all things considered, not withstanding my shitty mood upon arriving in Champaign. It had been a long day. The air conditioning in the new place was malfunctioning as well, so that was not pleasant. Hopefully it's fixed by now though. I have the rest of this week till next Tuesday to get this Chicago apartment back in shape, and I will need every instant of it. I am a filthy person. Sigh.
Today on the way home from the vet, I got in my first accident. As those go, it was a very small one. A big van slowed down really suddenly when I was trying to get into its lane, I had to swerve back really fast, and I tapped sides with one of those small industrial trucks. I was so scared! We both pulled off to the side of the highway and had a look, but there was no damage. It looks like the metal rail on the outside of his truck scraped over the top of my side mirror, which knocked it out of alignment, but no worse than that. The guy was really nice about it too. Since there was no damage, we both just shook hands and got going again. But I was shaky all the way home. I will be so glad to get out of Chicago traffic! But for now it is lunchtime, and there is ramen to be consumed. Gotta get rid of the food, after all!
