electra310: (Bonk)
Title of today's entry is interesting, since I actually really hate that song. My freshman year roommate used to play it constantly. But it just seemed to fit well today for some reason. I'm waiting for the work day to be over with, and carefully saving myself something to do tomorrow, since my new projects won't kick off till Monday. Because I'm smart that way and because I spent ages this morning researching one particular business and coming up empty-handed, which ate a lot of my time. Always frustrating.

Today at work I knew real temptation for the first time. I tend to be pretty scrupulously honest at work. Sure I goof off from time to time on the net (case in point), but I get a lot of work done, and I do it well. And even with things like printing, I actually saved recycling paper and made sure the company wouldn't be out the ink before I did any personal stuff on the printer. Because it feels better to be that way. Well this morning, one of the bankers brings in, get this, twenty brand new in the box iPod Shuffles. I have no idea what for, he just brought them in and set them on the counter and said to ship them to Indianapolis. And man, these things were shiny.

I'm not saying the temptation to grab one and run was ever strong, but it was there, even if just momentarily. They were so cool, and there were so many! But though I love little tecchy things, I like my job more. And I really like feeling like I'm not a bad, dishonest person. So I boxed them all up and sent them on their merry way. I don't know who they're for, gifts to good clients I suppose, but I'm sure they will be very happy. And I will get one of my own sometime.

With all that said, time for meaningless angst. I suggest you don't bother, and just think about how green and shiny a pile of twenty iPods is. Cause it's cool. Sniveling Driveling )
