January 24. Six months ago today, I had a fairly large percentage of my readership dudded up in dresses and suits and tuxes, and in church to boot. Crazy. =) I guess you guys must really like us after all.
It's hard to believe we've been married for six months now. It seems like the wedding was just yesterday, and at the same time it feels like we've been together forever. But in a good way, not a bored way. I guess we're officially not newlyweds anymore, at any rate. It's almost scary how easily things go from being an "I" to being a "we." Our names are both on the lease to our apartment, and on all our bills, and on the adoption papers for our cat. But it's comforting too, knowing I don't have to do everything by myself. We don't exactly have a whole lot of life skills to split between us, but we're getting better. I just need to learn how to clean.
We've got big plans to celebrate tonight, we're going out to Benihana and using the gift certificate we've been hanging onto for ages. Considering that the only eating out we do is usually at McDonalds and the Broadview on our Galesburg visits, this is a big deal. And I have to go out on my lunch hour today and pick up the gift I've decided on for my sweetie. He bought mine yesterday at Barnes and Noble when we returned the stinkfest that was WoD 2.0 and Vampire: the Requiem, so I have a pretty good idea of what it is. It's nice, books for anniversary, and romance for Valentines Day. Though, all things considered, I'm pretty glad that this is the only time we'll be doing an anniversary so close to that particular holiday. It would get too complicated. =)
