Orders of the Day
Jan. 27th, 2003 05:33 pmToday has been a busy day. I have decided to never, ever take another English class. Aaaargh! Anyone who thinks philosophy is a useless avocation has obviously never taken an English literature class. Talk about navel gazing. Garr. We discussed Uncle Tom's Cabin and how it wasn't really literature because it was aimed at obtaining an emotional response from the audience. So obviously only boring books can be literature. As I suspected all along.
In Philosophy, on the other hand, we had a quite detailed and prolonged discussion on the nature of batness, and whether it's truly possible to know what it's like to be a bat, or a rock, or a cowboy. That was way more interesting, didn't make me want to pound my head on the wall near as much. Yay!
Then it was off to the pharmacy, again, to argue over my birth control prescription, again. And it's still not all settled, though at least I got the right pills this time.
That's college, I guess. From the ridiculous to the sublime, and damned if you really know which is which.
